A day off work well spent.....

My only day off this week, I had to do some thing productive and creative; and something to stop me spending all day on facebook!!!!
I decided to get started on an evening dress for a client. And here is the toile.... just need to get it fitted and buy the fabric! Cant wait!

Jimberan Design's is a growing jewelery and accessories brand located in Cornwall.

My First Commission YaY!!

My first real commission since finishing college, cant wait to get started.
I have been asked to make an evening dress for a Christmas party. The person showed me a picture of a dress they liked but has allowed me to add my creative touch.
The only request is that the dress have one shoulder strap and a jeweled motif on the side.
Here are my designs.....

Fashion Icon..... Audery Kitchen

Ahhh well, I am constantly researching for inspirational fashion imagery and photo shoot concepts, and one person that always pops up in my searches is Audrey Kitching!!
I love her pink hair (makes me wish I still had my hair purple :( ) and I love her constant unique fashion trends; kooky, colourful and flamboyant.

Military chic

My first attempt at Polyvore! Lol
But love the military look thats in fashion, definitely my fav trend, even if green isn't the prettiest colour :-P

Outfit consists of: Fitted military jacket, charcoal grey printed tee,ripped fitted jeans and of course the gorgeous army boots, (preferably with a wedge, but flat for comfort!) Team this outfit with chunky "statement" jewelery for that capow of bling!

Photography Trial

My Boyfriend is currently in the development of starting his own clothes brand, Vector33.
He has ordered his first batch of tee shirts and to market his designs he wants to experiment with different locations and styles for a photo shoot.
We decided to head out on a location hunt and find some cool spots.

Prom Dress

After finishing college I realized I had loads of spare fabric and no money! So i decided to design a dress using the spare shot taffeta I had left.


I researched into "Prom Dresses" and combined the styles I like to create a figure hugging dress with sequin straps that cross over at the back. Now all is needed is to plan a photo-shoot :D

Im BACK!!!!

Ok,
so I got really slack with writing blog posts, partly because A. Im typing to myself and B being at college 8-8 is hard core enough with out having to think about what my next blog post will be!!

But im back now and really hope to keep it up and keep inspired!
What Ive been doing......

My last blog was about my college inspiration, since then I've designed the collection and made the collection.... here is he designs for my first initial collection....



The concept was inspired by space and the shapes and colours within sci-fi images.
Interpreting sheer sequined fabric, curved panels and 3D forms to create a modern and abstract collection.

Inspiration....

In my second year I chose 'lolita' as my inspiration which was fun but didn't give me much leeway to create something original.
For my final project I wanted to use inspiration that is not fashion related in any way. I searched through all my art books and came across artist Alex Grey. The band Tool use his art work in their album sleeves.

Using my favorite painting, Wonder, I started exploring shapes, colours and textures from the painting.

I looked into designer Balmain for his structure, colour and fabrics and designer Dora Mozjes for her abstract shapes.

Final Year of Study....

I have 6 months of uni course left and ooh im scared to end my time of being in education and enter the 'real world' where i'll have to fight for a worth while job in the fashion industry.
I have decided to document that last months of my course on my blog; uploading pics of my inspiration, design development, moodboards and final photo shoot pics!

So keep your eyes open and your mind inspired!

I wanted to try some thing abit experimental, sticking with colour themes and creating some thing dark but girlie. Here's my bubblelishious creation :D

Hollyoaks and Yeah Yeah Yeahs

I fell completely in love with the latest Hollyoaks commercial and music.... Calvin's notorious death....'not for the faint hearted' !
The video editing is just wicked.



My boyfriend hunted down the music for me and I couldn't believe it was Yeah Yeah Yeahs! I haven't listened to them in years and this song is such a dance floor hit! love it!!!
