What first got me in to Fashion Design is being able to make myself clothes to wear. My fav was little ruffle skirts with gothic and lolita themes that I could dress up with big boots and whatever else I could find in my wardrobe.

Waiting for Mr Postman....

While waiting for my new polka dot mesh fabric to arrive I have been busy illustrating some new designs. The polka dot fabric is really inspiring me to make a range of sophisticated gothic dresses as well as some other staple garments.
I have been wanting to design a completely black collection and this is my start.
So here is another dress to add to the collection, more illustrations soon as I have the time ^.^



Dress: Black Taffeta, Boned bodice with top layer of polka dot mesh and double puffball skirt.

Photo shoot with the amazing Nigel Sweet.....

Planning another photo shoot with Nigel Sweet, I wondered what surprise's he'll have this time...
I meet him and the model Courtney Rendle, at the Hoe in Plymouth. Then he takes us to the entrance of an old building, more like a construction site, the building was surrounded in scaffolding and just full of builders!?! We walked up old wooden stairs, minding the construction all around us, then he opens a door to one amazing luxury apartment... High ceilings, damask wall paper in every room, chandeliers, fire place, amazing dinning room table, satin sheets, balcony and an array of quirky, vintage objects ... should I go on? It was just amazing!
The beautiful model Courtney put on my purple, shot taffeta evening dress and the scene was set...

Photographer Nigel Sweet recently contacted me about getting involved in another shoot. I've recently been working full time so have not had the chance to organise a shoot for my final collection from college and this seems like the perfect opportunity ^.^

Busy... sewing!!

Last Friday I went shopping.. not clothes shopping for a change!! but fabric shopping with the beautiful Vicky S that I am making the latest dress for.
We went to the only decent shop in Cornwall, Truro Fabrics ( tis great :D )
Originally Vicky wanted a dark plum colour for the dress but all the satins were different shades of purple, worrying that I was going to have to order fabric, which is time consuming and costly we kept browsing.... And Yay, Vicky spotted a colour that she fell in love with, more a pinky purple. We found gorgeous beaded lace for the strap then searched on ebay for a jeweled applique.




Now its up to me to get making......

A day off work well spent.....

My only day off this week, I had to do some thing productive and creative; and something to stop me spending all day on facebook!!!!
I decided to get started on an evening dress for a client. And here is the toile.... just need to get it fitted and buy the fabric! Cant wait!

My First Commission YaY!!

My first real commission since finishing college, cant wait to get started.
I have been asked to make an evening dress for a Christmas party. The person showed me a picture of a dress they liked but has allowed me to add my creative touch.
The only request is that the dress have one shoulder strap and a jeweled motif on the side.
Here are my designs.....

Fashion Icon..... Audery Kitchen

Ahhh well, I am constantly researching for inspirational fashion imagery and photo shoot concepts, and one person that always pops up in my searches is Audrey Kitching!!
I love her pink hair (makes me wish I still had my hair purple :( ) and I love her constant unique fashion trends; kooky, colourful and flamboyant.

Military chic

My first attempt at Polyvore! Lol
But love the military look thats in fashion, definitely my fav trend, even if green isn't the prettiest colour :-P
Heres my latest "want" look.........


Military chic by deranged flower featuring a chain necklace

Outfit consists of: Fitted military jacket, charcoal grey printed tee,ripped fitted jeans and of course the gorgeous army boots, (preferably with a wedge, but flat for comfort!) Team this outfit with chunky "statement" jewelery for that capow of bling!

Photography Trial

My Boyfriend is currently in the development of starting his own clothes brand, Vector33.
He has ordered his first batch of tee shirts and to market his designs he wants to experiment with different locations and styles for a photo shoot.
We decided to head out on a location hunt and find some cool spots.

Prom Dress

After finishing college I realized I had loads of spare fabric and no money! So i decided to design a dress using the spare shot taffeta I had left.


I researched into "Prom Dresses" and combined the styles I like to create a figure hugging dress with sequin straps that cross over at the back. Now all is needed is to plan a photo-shoot :D

Ok,
so I got really slack with writing blog posts, partly because A. Im typing to myself and B being at college 8-8 is hard core enough with out having to think about what my next blog post will be!!

But im back now and really hope to keep it up and keep inspired!
What Ive been doing......

My last blog was about my college inspiration, since then I've designed the collection and made the collection.... here is he designs for my first initial collection....



The concept was inspired by space and the shapes and colours within sci-fi images.
Interpreting sheer sequined fabric, curved panels and 3D forms to create a modern and abstract collection.
