Location Photo-Shoot

One of my favorite models Chi Chi was returning to London for a quick visit. We had been chatting via facebook and decided to combine a catch up with a photo-shoot. I had been to the Excel a lot and loved the surrounding areas looking over the river and city scape. This would be a great place for the new collection to be photographed. I contacted make up artist Cassandra and we set a date.

Unfortunately on the day Chi Chi could not stay for long. We met at the multi-story car park and decided sitting in the car would be a good place to do hair and make up. When shooting on location any where can become your dressing room! As time was not on our side, the top layer on the car park seemed a perfect place to shoot. We managed to do hair and make up in 30 minutes, then shoot four outfits in 45 minutes! It was a rush but having such a great team every thing came together and I am so pleased with the images.

Professional Beauty Show - Excel London

I had been speaking with make up artist Anastasia Asenka via the site Model Mayhem. Ana had entered the Professional Beauty Show competition and wanted to use one of my designs. The competition involved styling a model from outfit to hair and make up. The theme for the show was 'Runway'.

It was a great day. The arena was full of stands selling a range of beauty products from nails to tanning systems. It was a great surprise to find out Katie Price's make up artist Gary Cockerill was judging the competition. We didn't win but Ana got great results for her choice of model and outfit.

New Collection Experimentation

For the new collection I really want to use different fabrics and techniques to what I have used before. Leather strips are going to be used heavily so I wanted to experiment on the stand with bondage style wrapping. Here's just a quick picture to show what I've started :)

Anime-Con Event

While organising everything for the Fashion and Cocktail Party I had also been in contact with the organisers of Anime-Con. A popular event for all Anime lovers to meet, dress up, shop, play computer games, show off their talent and meet people with the same interests.
At the event there was also a fashion show section and the organisers wanted to have my Lolita collection in the show.
The Anime Con was the next day after the Fashion show at the Hilton Hotel. Feeling very tired and quite hungover myself and Emily, my lovely friend and dressing assistant, headed to the venue.
I decided to bring five outfits to the event. Unfortunately some of the models had not shown, there were only three models which meant it would have to be a very quick change over. Emily stayed back stage while I went out in the crowd to watch and photograph.
It was a very quick show and annoyingly I didn't get any decent images but there was a huge crowd and the models looked gorgeous.

Fashion and Cocktail Party

At the APM fashion show I met fashion designer Mutsa. It was great to meet an aspiring designer who had the same dreams and ambitions as myself. We met up for coffee after the event and talked fashion, ideas and did a bit of market research at Spitalfields market.

Mutsa had been planning a fashion and cocktail party to be held a week before London Fashion week. She asked me to showcase my designs along side hers in the show.
The event was at the Hilton CourtHouse Hotel on Great Marlborough Street. I arrived with my friend and model Christian. In the foyer the models, make up/ hair artists, stylists and photographers were waiting. The hotel receptionist led us to the make up area and cat walk room. We set up tables and began model fittings, hair and make up. The show was to start at 830 so we had all afternoon to get all ten models dressed, styled and a routine for the catwalk.

There event had a great list of entertainment for the evening from a comedian presenter, DJ to a local female guitarist and aspiring rapper. There were stalls in the corridor to the main room where designers were selling their jewellery and accessories, there was even a stall where you could have eye lash extensions.

A Big thanks to Rico Ed Photography for documenting the evening.

And not forgetting the behind the scenes/ back stage images :)
Thanks to everyone involved; models, dressers, hair stylists, make up artists, photographers, videographers. The night was quiet but a great experience and so much fun.

Time for a New Collection....

The Black Collection was designed in late 2012 and it was time to start planning the next collection. From living in London I was surrounded by inspiration; architecture, The Science Museum, The National History Museum and general fashion on the streets.

After researching concepts and not really sure what I wanted to do next I found this stunning jewellery in a fashion shop and fell in love! The necklace was made up of paneled pieces connected together with gold hoops with a snake print detail. Edged with black and gold studs this instantly translated in to clothes designs. I bought the necklace as well as a pair of silver triangle earrings and a embroidered collar. I went home and began to draw shapes from the jewellery. The theme for the next collection will be inspired by mythology of the Egyptian gods. Interpreting prints, shapes and experimenting with new techniques that I haven't used before.

Studio Fashion Shoot

With the Black Collection complete it was time to organise a photo-shoot. As its winter its way too cold to have a shoot on location so finding a studio seemed the best idea. My gorgeous model friend Charlotte Baker put me in contact with a photographer called Omar. He had his own studio at his house and was really interested in collaborating on a shoot. I contacted Cassandra Aslanidis, a make up artist I met at the Aura Fashion Show. She was free so we set a date.

Here are a selection of my favorite images:
